Khan's Palace, Bakhchysarai
The Girays' residence with the Fountain of Tears. Under occupation.
The palace of the Crimean khans was built from the early 16th century — the residence of the Giray dynasty, the heart of the Crimean Khanate. In 1764, by order of Qirim Giray, the Fountain of Tears rose here in memory of Dilara Bikech — the legend Pushkin retold in "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai". Since 2014 the landmark is under russian occupation, and the occupiers' "restorations" alarm specialists.
Temporarily occupied territory: no access, status cannot be verified on site.
