Stepan Bandera's Grave, Munich
The burial place of the OUN leader at Munich's Waldfriedhof cemetery.
Stepan Bandera, killed by a KGB agent in Munich on 15 October 1959, is buried at the Waldfriedhof cemetery. The grave with its birch cross and trident has for decades been a place of remembrance for the Ukrainian diaspora of Bavaria — there are always flowers here. From February 1940 Bandera led the OUN(b) — the Revolutionary OUN, which broke away from the leadership of the Ukrainian Nationalists. Yaroslav Stetsko and Stepan Lenkavskyi, author of the Decalogue of a Ukrainian Nationalist, are buried in the same cemetery.
The pin marks the main part of the cemetery; the grave is in section 43 — follow the plan at the entrance.
