The ancient city where Volodymyr was baptised. UNESCO-listed. Under occupation.

A Greek colony of the 5th century BC that lived almost two millennia; the chronicle places Volodymyr the Great's baptism of 988 in a Chersonesus font. A World Heritage site since 2013. Since 2014 the territory is under russian occupation, and construction beside the reserve draws archaeologists' protests. The point is in the catalogue to remember, not to go.

Temporarily occupied territory: no access, status cannot be verified on site.
