The 17th-century hetman capital — Bohdan's residence, re-created.

In the mid-17th century Chyhyryn was the capital of the Hetmanate. On the site of Khmelnytsky's fortified residence, copies of the buildings were raised in 2006–2009 under the "Golden Horseshoe of Cherkasy" programme: defensive walls, the gate tower, the hetman's house and the military chancellery. This is the residence's probable appearance re-created by modern craftsmen, not a surviving original — and the catalogue says so plainly.

Some structures are unfinished — the complex is still taking shape.
