On 14 January 2023 a Kh-22 missile destroyed an entrance section of a nine-storey block — 46 dead, six of them children.

On 14 January 2023 at about 15:30 a russian Kh-22 anti-ship missile, launched by an aircraft of the 52nd Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment, destroyed an entrance section of the nine-storey block at 118 Naberezhna Peremohy: 236 flats were destroyed, about 400 people were left without housing. 46 people died, among them six children according to Suspilne — a local outlet gives seven; about 80 were wounded; rescuers pulled 36 people from the rubble, and the operation lasted almost 70 hours. The suspect in organising the strike is the regiment's commander, Colonel Oleg Timoshin; the same regiment struck the shopping centre in Kremenchuk on 27 June 2022. There is no permanent memorial yet — a spontaneous memorial of flowers and toys stands at the neighbouring bus stop; the surviving part of the building is being restored, with completion planned for December 2026.

Open urban space by a residential building; a sports ground and a children's playground are being built nearby, with the works due to be completed by 31.12.2026 (dnipro.media, 21.06.2026). A memorial service every year on 14 January. Dnipro is under regular missile and drone strikes — on 22.09.2026 4 people were killed (Obozrevatel, 22.09.2026), so heed the alerts.
