Dovbush Rocks, Bubnyshche
A rock complex with caves: a pagan sanctuary, then a cliff monastery.
A ridge of sandstone rocks up to fifty metres tall runs for a kilometre through the forest above Bubnyshche. Caves are hewn into the rock: archaeology points to a pagan sanctuary here, later a cliff monastery. The name of opryshok Oleksa Dovbush came from legends — those are about hidden treasure, while the caves are in truth centuries older than he.
From Bubnyshche to the rocks it is 2.5–3 km along a forest dirt road. By car to the car park (paid entry), then about 1.5 km on foot.
