Lutsk Gate, Dubno
The western entrance gate and barbican of Dubno's town fortifications, built in 1623.
The Lutsk Gate is a three-tier stone building that served as the western entrance gate and barbican in Dubno's system of town fortifications. It was built in 1623 on the site of a wooden gate under the direction of the master builder Jakub Madlain, under a contract with Prince Aleksander Zasławski. In 1785, under Prince Michał Lubomirski, the gate was rebuilt. In the interwar period it housed a Polish military commissariat, and during the Second World War a Nazi prison. The gate is part of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve in the town of Dubno; on 29 September 2026 the collapse of part of the facade wall was reported.
32 Danyla Halytskoho Street (reserve, 17.01.2025; travels.in.ua gives No. 68). Because part of the facade wall has collapsed (rivnepost.rv.ua, 29.09.2026), view the gate from outside only and do not go right up to the walls. Access to the interior, hours and prices are not established.
