Church of the Immaculate Conception, Horodenka
Late baroque by Meretyn, with altars and dozens of sculptures by Pinsel.
The church and its Theatine monastery were raised at the expense of Mykola Potocki to a design by Bernard Meretyn — the same architect who built St George's Cathedral in Lviv. The sculptural decoration was made by Johann Georg Pinsel: some thirty works and five altars. Most of the sculptures were lost in Soviet times, when a mechanics' vocational school was placed inside the monument; one remains on the column before the entrance. Since 2020 volunteers have been doing not restoration but emergency conservation — the roof, the drainage, clearing the undercrofts.
A working church in an emergency-conservation state. Tours of the undercrofts are by prior call to the numbers on the information boards by the church.
