St Josaphat's Community, Oslo
Norway's Ukrainian Greek Catholic community worships in St Hallvard's church.
Ukrainians of the Byzantine rite in Norway have no church of their own and use the premises of Latin Catholic parishes; their centre is St Hallvard's church in Oslo, a concrete building of 1966 designed by the Lund & Slaatto office. On 2 October 2019 Bishop Petro Kryk, apostolic exarch for Ukrainians of the Byzantine rite in Germany and Scandinavia, gave the Ukrainian community in Oslo its official name by decree, in honour of Josaphat Kuntsevych. The first permanent Ukrainian Greek Catholic priest in Norway was Father Myron Kuspys from Lviv, ordained on 2 September 2017 in St Olav's cathedral.
St. Hallvard kirke, Enerhauggata 4, 0651 Oslo; about 5 minutes' walk from Tøyen metro station. Check the times of the Ukrainian services with the parish — the church is shared with the Latin community.
