Kamiana Mohyla, Myrne
A hill of three thousand boulders with petroglyphs from the 24th millennium BC — under occupation, artefacts removed.
The twelve-metre hill consists of about three thousand sandstone boulders; 65 sites of rock images have been recorded, dated from the 24th millennium BC to the Middle Ages. The monument has had protected status since 1954, the reserve was created in 1986 and became national in 2008; its first director Borys Mykhailov led it for 22 years. Since 11 August 2006 the archaeological site Kamiana Mohyla has been on Ukraine's UNESCO World Heritage tentative list. In February 2022 the reserve came under russian occupation: the artefacts were taken to Crimea, and in 2024 the occupiers began illegal excavations.
Occupied territory since February 2022 — the grounds are mined; visiting is impossible until liberation.
