A factory church of 1894, built on half a percent of the workers' wages.

The church was built in 1894 at the expense of the Dnipro Metallurgical Works and its workers: every month half a percent of their wages was deducted for the construction; it was consecrated on 4 December. The eparchial architect Leonid Brodnytsky chose yellow Cherkasy brick and Old Slavic motifs, and in 1902 Oleksandr Petrovetsky added a 47-metre bell tower. In 1929 the church was closed and turned into a Museum of the Revolution, and the wall paintings were painted over; it functioned during the occupation of 1941–1943, and in 1960 it became a museum again — this time of the city's history. The cathedral was returned to the community in 1988, and since 2011 it has been a cathedral church.

1 Soborna Street, next to the factory zone of the old town; open daily 06:00–21:00, admission free (city council website, updated 05.05.2026). On 05.09.2026 russia struck the Kametstal plant with five ballistic missiles — 5 people were killed (Forbes.ua, 05.09.2026); on 13.09.2026 the city was also hit by a jet-powered drone (Pohliad, 13.09.2026), so during an alert — to a shelter.
