Stone Village, Olevsk area
Granite boulders in the forest — 15 ha of geological reserve in Polissia.
On 15 hectares of pine forest near Rudnia-Zamyslovytska lie granite boulders of the Kyshyn series; geologists describe them as denudation remnants of the Ukrainian Shield, not as boulders carried in by a glacier. The blocks have local names — God's Foot, the Broken Loaf — and the tract is still a place of folk pilgrimage. Pontic azalea grows here, a species that outside Polissia occurs only in Asia Minor and the Caucasus. Its status is a geological reserve of local significance.
The last 25–30 km from Olevsk are gravel and sand, and from Rudnia-Zamyslovytska it is about 2 km along a forest road to the boulders.
