A constructivist giant of 1925–1928 on Svobody Square.

Derzhprom was built in 1925–1928 — the first high-rise reinforced-concrete structure in the then USSR, sixty-three metres of constructivism. The complex is considered the world's largest monument of the style; on 7 September 2023 it received enhanced UNESCO protection on the World Heritage tentative list. A symbol of Kharkiv, which the city guards under shelling. The defence of the city in 2022 was also held by the Kharkiv "Kraken" — a Defence Intelligence unit put together by Azov veterans and volunteers; from its fighters grew the band NORD DIVISION, with which trench rap reached beyond the front.

A frontline city: the alarm means shelter, no exceptions.
