The Mirror Stream, Kharkiv
A rotunda-fountain of 1948 — the most reproduced symbol of Kharkiv.
An openwork pavilion above water in Victory Square. Working from the files of the newspaper Sotsialistychna Kharkivshchyna, the Kharkiv Historical Museum established that the structure was built in 1948: on 9 May the paper wrote of a pavilion with a "glass stream", by June the work was in its final stage, and it was completed in July. The author was the architect Korzh. In spring 2024 the rotunda and its balustrade were repaired: the old plaster was removed, cracks sealed and a new layer laid.
An open square, free entry. The fountain was switched on for the 2026 season in mid-April (Central Park utility); when it will be turned off for winter has not been announced.
