“Tunnel of Love”, Klevan
Four kilometres of railway to Orzhiv that the trees have closed into a green corridor; a shunting train still keeps it trimmed.
The railway branch from Klevan station to the wood-processing plant in Orzhiv is about 4 km long; the trees above the track have closed into a continuous vault, and the shunting train that still runs to the plant and back trims the branches to the clearance of a wagon (Rivne District State Administration; Telegraf, 16.01.2026). The district state administration writes of one shunting train a day, travels.in.ua — that trains pass “occasionally”. In 2014 the Japanese director Akiyoshi Imazeki shot the feature-length drama “Klevan — Tunnel of Love” here (Telegraf, 16.01.2026); the premiere took place in November 2015 at the international film festival in Hanoi (Rivne District State Administration). The tunnel is at its densest from May to September, and in autumn it turns yellow and copper; nearby in Klevan are the ruins of the Czartoryski castle.
Admission free, an open-air site; by the entrance there are an open area, a cafe, parking and a toilet (travels.in.ua, 18.06.2025). From Rivne — by minibus from the railway station every half hour or by the Rivne — Lutsk suburban train; by car — 25 km along the N-22 highway (Rivne District State Administration). The line is in use: if you hear a train, step off the embankment. The Czartoryski castle is 2 km away.
