Pysanka Museum, Kolomyia
The world's only pysanka museum — a collection inside a 13.5-metre painted egg.
The museum of pysanka painting grew out of the collection of the Kolomyia folk art museum, and in 2000 it got a building of its own shaped like a pysanka — its stained glass covers more than six hundred square metres. Inside are painted eggs from every region of Ukraine and from abroad: the ornament reads like a language in which each region speaks its own dialect.
Closed on Mondays. Busiest in the holiday season: allow time for the queue.
