limitedas of 2026-10-012022Donechchyna

On 8 April 2022 a Tochka-U missile inscribed "For the children" killed 61 people at the station, seven of them children.

On 8 April 2022 at about 10:30 the russian army struck Kramatorsk railway station with a Tochka-U missile carrying a cluster warhead, as about four thousand civilians waited for evacuation trains; a fragment of the missile bore the inscription "Za detei" — "For the children". The Donetsk Regional Administration gives 61 dead, including seven children, and 121 wounded; other sources — up to 63 dead and 9 children. On the station square stands a spontaneous memorial sign with children's toys, to which flowers are brought all year round — "the site of the future memorial"; a permanent memorial has not yet been built. The station resumed work six months later, but from 5 November 2025 train traffic to Kramatorsk has been halted as the front draws nearer. Every year on 8 April at 10:30 Ukrzaliznytsia announces a minute of silence at all stations.

The station square is open ground, but visiting is not recommended. Kramatorsk is 12 kilometres from the front line (Antykor, citing DeepState, 03.09.2026), the city is under daily strikes with guided aerial bombs and drones, and a curfew is in force (UNIAN, 24.06.2026). No passenger trains run to the city: the terminal stations are Husarivka or Barvinkove, then by bus (TSN, 05.11.2025).
