Ivan Karazin's park with the caves of a Cossack monastery: the first ginkgos in Ukraine.

The park was founded by Ivan Nazarovych Karazin, brother of the founder of Kharkiv University; sources date its foundation to 1809, some to 1793. Karazin acclimatised plants that did not then exist in Ukraine: ginkgo, Canadian poplar, Japanese quince. Today there are more than 300 species of rare plants here, two large ponds and the "Island of Love". On the grounds survive the caves and underground passages of the 17th-century Cossack Monastery of Sts Peter and Paul with an underground chapel. The park belongs to the Krasnokutsk Horticultural Research Station.

The arboretum is in the village of Osnovyntsi on the outskirts of Krasnokutsk, entry is open and free of charge (funtime.com.ua, undated); there are no confirmed opening hours, so check on site. A frontline community: on 09.07.2026 a drone hit a shop in Krasnokutsk, three people were hurt (times.kharkiv.ua, 09.07.2026), and on 25.09.2026 the Regional Military Administration reported damage to infrastructure in the Bohodukhiv district (Obiektyv, 25.09.2026).
