A wooden house on Kozyne Boloto where the poet rented a room in 1846.

The house of 1835 belonged to the official Ivan Zhytnytsky; Shevchenko rented lodgings here in 1846 — his last in Kyiv before the arrest in the case of the Brotherhood of Saints Cyril and Methodius. The museum opened on 10 November 1928 and is one of the country's oldest Shevchenko museums. Today it is a branch of the National Museum: personal belongings, etchings, autographs and a re-created room with a writing desk and the pipe given to him by Mykola Kostomarov.

8-a Tarasa Shevchenka Lane, in the centre of Kyiv. This is a branch of the National Taras Shevchenko Museum — check the schedule on its website before your visit.
