Marinka
A town liberated in 2014, of which by 2023 only ruins remained.
On 4 August 2014 Azov liberated Marinka. For nine years it stood on the line of contact, and from 2022 it became the site of the longest urban fighting in the Donetsk region. On 25 December 2023, when russia once again announced its capture, the spokesman of the Tavria axis Oleksandr Shtupun replied that it was incorrect to speak of full capture, and added the main thing: the town has been completely destroyed. The fighting went on even after that statement. The defence of the town from 24 February 2022 was organised by Kyrylo Veres — commander of the K-2 battalion, which grew into an unmanned systems brigade.
Temporarily occupied. The town as a built place no longer exists.
