openas of 2026-10-012024Naddniprianshchyna

On 8 July 2024 a Kh-101 missile struck the toxicology wing of the children's hospital directly.

On 8 July 2024, during a massive russian attack, a Kh-101 cruise missile hit the toxicology wing of the Okhmatdyt National Specialised Children's Hospital; according to the SBU and forensic experts it was a direct hit, not fragments, and the UN Monitoring Mission assessed a "high likelihood" of a russian missile strike. At the hospital, nephrologist Svitlana Lukianchuk and visitor Volodymyr Petrechenko were killed, and on 10 July a boy patient died in another hospital; the wounded at the hospital numbered 10 to 16, among them ten children; in all, 31–33 people died in Kyiv that day. Over 20 departments were destroyed, including the country's only oncohaematology laboratory; over 600 patients were in the hospital at the moment of the strike. As of July 2026 the surgical wing has been fully rebuilt, the toxicology wing is under reconstruction, and a memorial-medical complex is being designed.

A working hospital: entry to the grounds by the institution's rules. The building hit by the missile has been fully restored (Bituk Media, 09.09.2026), and the point of impact itself is to be kept as a memorial zone (Kyiv24, 18.05.2026). Kyiv is regularly attacked — on the night of 30.09.2026 2 people were killed (Ukrinform, 30.09.2026).
