Radziwill Castle, Olyka
The castle of Mikolaj Radziwill "the Black", founded in 1558.
The castle in Olyka was founded in 1558 by Mikolaj Radziwill "the Black"; in 1737–1755 Michal Kazimierz Radziwill "Rybenko" rebuilt the family residence. After decades of decline the landmark is slowly being returned to visitors. One of the first bastion fortifications in Volhynia — a quadrangle with bastions at the corners, surrounded by water; in the 18th century the castle lost its defensive role and became a palace complex. Today it is a branch of the Volyn Museum of Local History.
Open 9:00–17:00, closed Monday and Tuesday (28 Zamkova Street).
