On 3 March 1945 a Home Army unit killed 366 Ukrainians of the village; two presidents unveiled the memorial in 2006.

At four in the morning on 3 March 1945 a former Home Army unit under Lieutenant Józef Biss 'Wacław' surrounded Pawłokoma, 40 km west of Przemyśl. The men were herded into the church and then shot at the cemetery; some 40 women with small children were let go. The list of Professor Petro Potichnyj counts 366 dead — 324 killed that day and 22 in earlier attacks and on the road to the village; Polish historian Zdzisław Konieczny speaks of about 150. They lie in three mass graves at the Greek Catholic cemetery. The church was dismantled in 1963; the bell tower remains. On 13 May 2006 a stone cross with the names was consecrated in the presence of Presidents Viktor Yushchenko and Lech Kaczyński.
