The poet's birthplace: the school that bears his name, his cradle, his father's well.

Vasyl Stus was born in Rakhnivka on 6 January 1938 and spent his first years here — the museum stands beside the peasant homestead where that happened. It opened in 1995 in the village school that bears the poet's name: the first room is about his life and verse, the second is arranged as a prison cell. More than five hundred exhibits, among them Stus's embroidered shirt, his childhood cradle and the family's gramophone. In the schoolyard stands the well dug by the poet's father; the monument to Stus was raised here in 2006.

The museum is in the village school building (Chytomo, 02.08.2024); it receives visitors — on 06.01.2025 the museum's director gave guests a guided tour (Haisyn community website, 06.01.2025). No schedule has been published — write to the culture department of Haisyn City Council: gaysin_culture@ukr.net (department website, as of 03.10.2026).
