Lyzohub Estate, Sedniv
The Lyzohub family seat, where Shevchenko had a studio of his own; last year the war struck the estate.
The oldest structure on the estate is the stone house of about 1690, one of the oldest private masonry dwellings in Ukraine; in the 19th century the brothers Andrii and Illia Lyzohub restyled it as a small Gothic castle and raised a new manor house beside it. The Lyzohubs gave Shevchenko a separate building for a studio, and in 1904 one of the first monuments to the poet in Ukraine was set up in Sedniv. The summerhouse of 1843, where by tradition Leonid Hlibov's song “Stoit hora vysokaia” was born, is called Hlibov's summerhouse: it is a monument of national significance and in an unsafe state.
Daily 9:00–17:00, no days off (2026). Branch telephone: +38 098 438 75 98. In November 2025 a strike damaged the estate's windows and a farm building.
