Smuhar (Bukovynian) Waterfalls, Roztoky
A cascade of seven waterfalls up to 19 m on the Smuhar stream — the most on a single river in Bukovyna.
A cascade on the Smuhar stream, a right tributary of the Cheremosh, formed by outcrops of sandstones, limestones and shales. The stream valley, 38.5 ha in area, is a landscape reserve of local significance. The chain of waterfalls stretches for about 2 km: Kovber (3.5 m), Sych (10.5 m), Lower Huk (9 m), Vorota (3.5 m), Middle Huk (10.5 m) and Great Huk of about 19 m; the Upper Huk was destroyed by floods. In the “7 Natural Wonders of Ukraine” competition the waterfalls took ninth place among 475 nominees. In 2025 a circular route “Smuhar Waterfalls — Nimchych” was laid out here.
