A park of 1796–1802 — Potocki's gift to his wife Sofia.

The park was founded in 1796 by count Stanislaw Szczesny Potocki, with the engineer Ludwig Metzel directing the construction; in May 1802, for her name day, the count gave it to his wife Sofia, whose name the park bears. Grottoes, cascades, allusions to antiquity — a romantic park of the turn of the 18th–19th centuries on 179.6 ha, where over 3,000 plant taxa grow. After the Polish uprising the estate was confiscated: from 1836, by decree of Nicholas I, it was called the "Tsaritsa's Garden". In 1955 the park was handed to the Academy of Sciences — today it is a research institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, national since 2004. There are no shelters on the grounds; the addresses of the nearest are posted at the entrances.

Daily 9:00–20:00, entry until 18:00 (park website, 2026); from 01.10.2026 ticket 300 UAH, schoolchildren 150 (park website, 24.09.2026). There are no shelters within the park; the addresses of the nearest ones are posted at the entrances; on the eve of 01.10.2026 drone debris injured a man in Uman (Ukrinform, 01.10.2026). Allow at least half a day for Sofiivka.
