A salt town with an underground sanatorium and a concert hall 300 metres down.

The salt mines of Soledar are a unique underground world: galleries as tall as a five-storey building, a sanatorium in the salt chambers and a concert hall 300 metres deep where a symphony orchestra played. Salt has been mined here since the 19th century. The town was occupied in January 2023. The Honor company of Serhiy Filimonov "Filia", part of Dmytro Kotsiubailo's battalion, fought for Soledar.

Chronicle

• August 2022 — Assaults began on the Soledar axis.
• December 2022 — Fighting for Yakovlivka and Bakhmutske on the approaches to the town.
• 10–11 January 2023 — Soledar was enveloped on three sides; Wagner units claimed control of it.
• 25 January 2023 — The town was added to the register of temporarily occupied territories.
