Oleksandr Dovzhenko Museum, Sosnytsia
The parental homestead of the film director Oleksandr Dovzhenko at the hamlet of Viunyshche, and a museum of his legacy since 1960.
The museum was founded on 23 January 1960 at the hamlet of Viunyshche in Sosnytsia, where the film director Oleksandr Dovzhenko was born in 1894. The homestead preserves the memorial cottage of the late 19th – early 20th century, a sweep well and a cellar house. In 1964, for the artist's 70th anniversary, a separate building was put up for the literary exhibition. The collection numbers more than 6,000 items in the main fund and more than 3,000 in the auxiliary one, among them Dovzhenko's suit, embroidered shirt and typewriter. Next to the museum stands the monument “Young Sashko” by the sculptor Anatolii Fuzhenko, of 1974.
