A Jesuit church of the 1640s that became the cathedral of the Greek Catholics of Zakarpattia.

The church was built by the Jesuits in 1640–1646 at the expense of Count János X Drugeth. After the suppression of the order in 1773 the building was handed to the Greek Catholic eparchy, and in 1779 Bishop Andrii Bachynsky rebuilt it in the Baroque style. A reconstruction of 1878 added classicism: three-tiered domes with a chiming clock, a columned portico, a red marble staircase. In 1991 the cathedral was returned to the Greek Catholics; today it is the cathedral of the Eparchy of Mukachevo.

1 Andriia Bachynskoho Square, next to Uzhhorod Castle (BlaBlaCar, 14.04.2025). On 14.09.2026 the renewed cathedral was consecrated after 19 years of restoration of the murals, the iconostasis and the holy table (synod.ugcc.ua, 15.09.2026). A working cathedral church — look around quietly during services.
