Mass graves of people shot by the NKVD in 1937–1938 — from 9,432 exhumed in 1943 to 13–17 thousand by the archives.

In 1937–1938 the regional NKVD directorate headed by Captain Korablev fabricated the cases of 37 "insurgent nationalist organisations"; the executed were buried in the central park, in the Orthodox cemetery and in an orchard on Pidlisna Street. The Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration and the Vinnytsia History Centre give over 20,000 repressed and 13,475 shot, by other data 16,806; the victims were mostly aged 25–45, about 60 per cent peasants. Under German occupation, from 24 May to 6 October 1943, an international commission opened 91 graves and found 9,432 bodies, among them 169 women; 679 people were identified. In 1944 the Soviet authorities placed a monument at the reburial site inscribed to the "victims of German terror", concealing the NKVD's crime; later the Memorial society put up a memorial sign to the victims.

Memorial signs in the urban space, accessible around the clock; the coordinate is the memorial to the victims of the Stalinist repressions of 1937–1938. Commemorated every year on the third Sunday of May.
