Yevpatoria
A city where a mosque, a kenesa and a church stand on one street.
Kerkinitis was founded by Greeks in the 5th century BC; later the city became Gezlev — a Crimean Tatar port with the Juma-Jami mosque by the architect Mimar Sinan (1552). The "Little Jerusalem" street astonishes with a mosque, Karaite kenesas, an Armenian church and a synagogue side by side — evidence of a multicultural Crimea that the occupation is erasing.
Temporarily occupied since 2014.
