Snake Island
A rock in the sea that answered the cruiser Moskva — and became a symbol of defiance.
On 24 February 2022 the border-guard garrison on these twenty hectares of rock answered the cruiser Moskva with a phrase the whole world now knows. Then came the occupation: on 13 April Neptune missiles sank the cruiser itself, on 30 June the russians abandoned Zmiinyi under fire, and on 7 July the Ukrainian flag rose over the island again. Thirty-five kilometres off the mainland — the island that did not surrender.
Border zone: no visits. The point is a memory of the battle, not an invitation to sea.
